What's Nexus?
In a country whose resume is burgeoning with factory jobs, it must be difficult for China not to fall back on their lived experience now that the country is maturing (as are we all) particularly in the Technology sector.
Ten years ago, my Dad, who was a Buisness consultant to China’s CCTV, remarked,
“They are ten years ahead with technology there. They have to stutter releases to North America because the learning gap is so wide. We wouldn’t even know how to use the stuff today if they shipped direct to market.”
Ten years later, it would appear that North America has caught up (typical of us to assume so). Ten years later, the truth is China, in its wisdom, has let us catch up.
When coming to school in North America, students are in the habit of leaving their devices at home, and buy North American once they arrive. Likewise upon departure. It’s a truth across Asia, no North American devices cross Boarder. It’s not their shame, it’s a new way of understanding of Technology without boarders.
Apparently North American Dev. forgot to develop software that’s cross compatible with new foreign devices. That’s to say, they might look alike, and don’t say “knock-off” but devices built in Asia these days are different from what we’re use.
Enter stage right #apple. Apple has had the fore sight to reach out to China’s technology community and scout the “best and brightest in the industry, bringing a team of two Chinese Developers on board as an “Experiential Team,” transcending boarders. Smart thinking, as #appple is now moving ahead demoing hardware developed in China, and coding OTB from North America to lessen the spatial dissonance between devices with software that’s Can/Pan friendly.
There was a rumor five years ago that a new platform, other than Android or iOS was in the works. China knows it, so do I.
It’s called Nexus, and Dev. Kind of fell off during Covid-19. China was sick with worry, North America and Britain were incommunicado, as Asia suffered, but in the light of day, a one man coding phenomenon has emerged as a potential hero to a nation. Fortunately, China remembered to think of itself, and is rumored to have developed Nexus hardware. But where is Nexus Dev. Leader now?
