Coming to a Theater Near You!
Two things that the 'Bites' concept has always been in my mind is, present in the "Now," and interactive. This openness gives Bites the chance to pop up in unexpected places, at unexpected times, in new ways. One of the ways that current technology can be used to support this, is at live events like concerts, movie theatres, and possibly sporting events. It is not unrealistic to imagine a day near by, when new movie launches, broadcast a QR code that attendees scan, to obtain a 'Bite' that commemorates the special event they are attending. As a girl, I remember being so excited to go to new movie releases, because they offered loot bags to kids, to commemorate the event. In particular, I remember a BatMan movie that gave away plastic BatMan kites to kids one summer. I loved flying that kite at the local park. In the same way, a 'Bite' could, and should, generate such excitement.
The Bite can also be customized per event in such a way that concert attendees, might expect something original, and even event exclusive. Consider, this might be a monologue given by their favorite star between songs, or a snippet of a song that is only played at that particular event, but it must always be delivered in the 'Bites' format, as a short punchy audio clip. Because a 'Bite' is so short, this makes it possible for event organizers to create one on the spot. At sporting events, the tech crew would take a highlight of the game, as called by announcers, and "Bite it." The QR code for the brand new, event specific, 'Bite' would then be broadcast on the stadium's, 'Jumbo-Tron' screen. Fans might even come to expect, and look forward to the 'Bite' as regularly as they do the Seventh Inning Stretch, now. Imagine the marketing power, and new excitement that that would generate at sporting events of all kinds. The 'Bite' could realistically become the new Wave of the sporting world. 'Bites' can be in a number of public places at once, and, lend themselves as useful marketing tools, to a variety of event types. In this way, they can become highly collectable. The more places they are used, and the more unique ways the 'Bites' are used, the greater the potential for 'Bites' hype and the stronger the pull for the consumer. The dependence of 'Bites' hype is reciprocal to the dependence of the event to be hyped by the 'Bite.'
